Tokenomics After the Merge
Ethereum underwent a significant transformation with The Merge, a pivotal update that changed how the network operates. The upgrade replaced traditional mining with a new system where validators secure the network by locking up their ETH, making the process more energy-efficient and sustainable.
This shift also had a significant impact on Ethereum’s tokenomics. With less new ETH being introduced and a portion of it being removed from circulation through transaction fees, the supply dynamics changed. As a result, Ethereum is now influenced by deflationary forces, meaning its availability can shrink over time under certain conditions.
