Laszlo Hanyecz agreed to pay 10,000 bitcoins for two Papa John’s pizzas. He made his offer on a bitcointalk forum. The offer was picked up by somebody from Florida, who arranged the pizzas and cashed in the reward.
Back then 10k BTC was worth around $30, so these were quite expensive pizzas, but what a joy to pay with cryptocurrency. Well, at the time everyone could buy any amount of bitcoins.
